DOs
Wash by hand - probably the best way to clean cutlery even if it is dishwasher safe
Use the dishwasher if the cutlery is marked as dishwasher safe
Polish your cutlery regularly with a dry cloth to retain the natural shine.
Dry your cutlery thoroughly after washing
Use a stainless steel cream to remove stains
DON'Ts
Leave the cutlery to soak or use the pre wash function on the dishwasher as this is the same as a soak.
Leave the cutlery to drain or drip dry if you want to avoid drip smears and marks.
Repeatedly leave your cutlery - especially knives to "steam" dry in the dishwasher for long periods as the moist atmosphere can produce corrosion.
Use a scourer to remove stains
Mix silverware with stainless steel cutlery as the silver can get permenantly marked by the steel.
